That was pretty funny and had some unnexpected stuff in it.
Alright, so this animation was clearly created for Youtube. Still, its missing a loading bar / play button, and it just loops once it actually starts playing. When it fades to black there's also like one like of pixels on the left that stay tan. As for the audio, you cut a couple of things out, which is fine, but I'm not sure why you removed Ego saying "sand"...?? It also wasn't the cleanest crossfade I've ever heard. The panting after IM OFFFFFFF! wasn't cut very cleanly either. Most of the starts I took off were from the bad loading / looping, so overall good animation ^_^
Right after I made my character I glanced upon the phrase "costs 1 energy" and I was like "nope". I already know what this entire game is going to be: a medieval themed click the cow. I may be too quick to judge, but I really don't care to spend any more time on this. I'm giving this 2 stars, one for nice artwork and UI, and one for nice music. The rest belong to good gameplay, which this genre of game lacks.

I was not disappointed. Totally demented sickbiz up in here all day, man. Tycooning this bizaitch all while maintaining tenth level ironic detachment. So cool, man, so COOL.

Yup its a top-down shooter
If you like top-down shooters, you'll like this. Ability to customize weapons is good, but you unlock weapon slots? I didn't care for that, What if i wanted 3 weak guns as opposed to one sniper? I noticed you can change gun dirrection, but that wont really help till you have three guns, huh? Also the strong-slow shot gun is supposed to have higher dps than the rapid fire to make it more effective against crafts with high health (you might be overwhelmed by tons of trash but not by the heavy crafts, or the other way around for rapid-fire guns) soundtrack and graphics were good, though you can hide your ship pretty far off the screen if you fly back enough. It really lacked the bells and whistles to make it an incredible game though. All the weapons are standard projectiles. What about missiles, lasers, waves, chain attacks. The only items that drop are money, and I end up dying alot trying to pick them up. Can i has money magnet plz? By the colors of the gems I thought you were going with the LoZ rupee system (green = 1, blue = 5 etc.) but i never found out for sure... The world 2 boss was alot easier than the two heavy fighters just before it... I often ended up dieing before fighting the boss. So yeah, it feels like a beta.

I would usually write things i dont like about it but i really love all 28 seconds of it, so good job!
Missing a star because I reserve my fifth star for truly mind-blowing or revolutionary stuff (completely subjective, of course) perhaps if there was just more going on, more effects, more instruments, and the instruments could have been a little less generic sounding. There was some great uniqueness in the composition both melodically and percussively, so you get half a fifth star :3
Two things that bugged me, the first is the drums, I didnt dig the compression all that much, would have been better if you sped up the release or compressed the cymbals separately from the rest of the kit. The other thing was the lack of spacialization. It kind of makes sence for there to be a lack of panning effects since VG music back then was mono, but it would have been nice to get some spread.
You got skills though man so keep going :D
Looking at the other remixes out there...
I just uploaded my version of the song of storms, so i decided to look at the other remixes on newgrounds... Its a hard call saying which one of ours is better... Taking pygmalionism (the love of one's own art) into account, your'se is probably better, though I'd love it if you gave mine a look.. ^^''
Now for the review. I really like the piano part, how it was layered and had the reverse effect, though at some point the different lines became hard to distinguish (around 1:00). This is an easy trap to fall in if your used to hearing all the parts separately in your head, but it could use some more effects, maybe a low pass filter to make the harmony less punchy, so the melody sticks out. On the contrary, the harmony at 2:48 was a little hard to make out, i could only pick out some of the notes, maybe try raising the whole line up an octave? just an idea.

The intro is flawless in the sense of creating chaos with a piano. You're not really supposed to be able to tell the difference between the notes, however they all blend and real parts of the song.

an improvement could be that you take into consideration the direction of the lighting when drawing the glasses glare. The glasses say the light source is on the right, while the shadows say its on the top left.
